Standard is a biannual print publication that melt culture and fashion in ambitious collaborative projects across contemporary creation.

The magazine was launched in 2004 by editor in chief Magali Aubert, taking its name and spirit from a certain fear of globalization, with the goal of being the illustration that despite all threatenings, international network of creative people is nothing but standard.

Since its inception, Standard has worked with many of the french most influential creators, and initiated an artistic dialogues dedicated to readers, followers and brands. Among the contributors to have created exclusive content for the magazine are Théo Mercier, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Gaspard Augé (drawings), Philippe Jaenada, Mélissa Theuriau, Tristan Garcia, Diane Pernet, Chris Esquerre (texts), Geoffroy de Boismenu, Philippe Jarrigeon, Mathieu Lavanchy, Frédéric Lebain, Bertrand Le Pluard, Alfredo Piola, Paul Rousteau, Ami Sioux (photos).

STANDARD BRIEF HISTORY

2004: First issues are designed by Jenny Mannerheim, now owner of Nuke gallery and Each x Other. As soon as Standard #2, the team get interviews of rare personalities such as Larry Clark and Robert Crumb.

2006: Richard Gaitet joins the redaction. Listen to his daily broadcast Nova Book Box on Radio Nova. Standard choose Justice as cover boys – last famous people on cover until Julien Doré in 2013.

2008: The photographer Caroline de Greef is in charge of the photography. Her standard’s picture of M.I.A is sold (at the request of the singer) to the legendary music magazine Billboard.

2014: Standard’s working on its first-ever app…
